Description

Teresa Kemp is passionate about preserving the history and traditions of the African-American population in McCormick County. The South Carolina Wild’s Heritage Center is now open in the former train depot in downtown McCormick. Interactive exhibits and activities, a Children’s Corner and plantation quilts are just a small part of what lies in store for visitors! The Underground Railroad Quilt Code Collection is a must-see. Just speaking with Teresa will take you back in time to a place she is determined will never be forgotten, but remembered and passed down through generations. There is no admission charge for the Center but donations are accepted. For more information visit www.plantationquilts.com, or call Teresa at 803-618-2250.
