Come celebrate 53 years and the beginning of summer 2020 at the South Carolina Festival of Flowers in beautiful Greenwood, South Carolina. Named Event of the Year 2018 by the South Carolina Festival and Events Association and one of Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events in June for ten years running, the SC Festival of Flowers is a long-standing tradition. This year the main weekend and schedule of events have been postponed, but the signature topiary and flower displays are still open on schedule. Keep an eye on their website for details and updates.
From above, Earth appears as a water planet with more than 71 percent of its surface covered with this vital resource for life. Water impacts climate, agriculture, transportation, industry and more. It inspires art and music. McCormick County Chamber of Commerce and Hickory Knob State Park and Resort, in cooperation with South Carolina Humanities, will examine water as an environmental necessity and an important cultural element as it hosts “Water/Ways,” a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street (MoMS) program.
