28 Mar Experience The Masters
Spring is always the time we look forward to the Masters golf tournament just across the state line! The first Major tournament of the golf season is upon us. The Masters, slated during April at the Augusta National, is in our neighboring area of Augusta, Georgia. One of the best reasons to visit South Carolina’s Freshwater Coast this time of year.
Even if you are not a golf fan, spending some time in our area during this storied tournament will have you following the sport just a little more closely than before. The history, the beauty of the course, and the triumph of the eventual green championship jacket are worth the crowds and the trip.
If you know anything about The Masters, you know have to get tickets in advance for the tournament, and certainly, your overnight lodging booked well in advance. While the limited availability of tickets is certainly a concern, we’re here to let you in on a little secret. South Carolina’s Freshwater Coast, just a quick drive from August National, has rooms, food, and all the hospitality you’d expect from a weekend in the South. You heard us right, we always have rooms available for Masters week.
Plan your stay at one of the many Bed & Breakfasts on the Freshwater Coast, and experience Masters week with a good night’s sleep and mornings filled with genuine hospitality. Several of our B&Bs are located within an hour or so of Augusta, Georgia. You may even want to make some time to experience Lake Greenwood in between taking in the experiences of the golf tournament.
If Bed & Breakfasts aren’t your thing, or you prefer to be the one playing golf, not just watching, you’re in luck. Visit one of the many golf courses we have to offer.
After a day of exploring, spectating, taking in the blooms of the season, or just enjoying a round of golf yourself, you’re sure to have worked up an appetite. Experience food straight from the local folks who made it, or set out to explore the SC Freshwater Coast BBQ Trail. No matter what your taste buds are craving, you’re sure to find it on this trip.
It’s not too late to plan your trip to experience The Masters from South Carolina’s Freshwater Coast.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
