Clinton Museum

The Clinton Museum is located in the downtown area of Clinton, SC. The Museum strives to bring history to life for younger generations. Clinton was first settled by Scots-Irish immigrants two decades before the American Revolutionary War. It incorporated as a town in 1852, and was named after Henry Clinton Young, a lawyer from Laurens, who helped lay out the first streets. The Clinton Museum has been given hundreds of old postcards from the 1940’s-1950’s that show First Baptist Church, Doyle Infirmary at PC, Bailey Stadium at PC, The Old Library at PC, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hampton Ave., and Georgia-Beatie Home at Thornwell.
