Turkeys Aren't Just For Thanksgiving

The National Wild Turkey Federation, located on US 25 in Edgefield, South Carolina, is dedicated to the management and conservation of the wild turkey. The 30,000 square foot campus of the NWTF contains the Winchester Museum - an entertaining hands-on experience for the whole family. The Museum provides an insight into the creation of NWTF and how its conservation techniques are making wild turkeys plentiful again. An Outdoor Education Center and picnic pavilion are also on the premises. The Turkey Shoppe is located in downtown Edgefield and is the retail center for NWTF. Hunting supplies and gear as well as hunting apparel in all sizes are available .

At its founding, the NWTF reported there were an estimated 1.3 million wild turkeys and 1.7 million turkey hunters. Now, thanks to its efforts, the NWTF reports the existence of more than 7 million turkeys and almost 3 million hunters.

For more information, call NWTF at 803-637-3106 or visit www.nwtf.org.
